The Importance of a Beautiful Bed

In the UK March is National Bed Month, which got me thinking about ours and what improvements could be made to make it the perfect place to relax and of course to have the perfect night’s sleep.
My bed has always been one of my favourite places; I love nothing better than climbing into crisp, freshly laundered, ironed sheets at the end of a long tiring day...one of my biggest indulgences on a really cold winter night is to head to bed as early as 8.30pm in cosy pyjamas, with a cup of steaming hot chocolate and a really good book...heaven!
So with all that in mind here are my top tips for creating a beautiful bed this Spring:

{The amazing Dormeo Octraspring} |
1. Mattress: We've recently updgraded to the revolutionary Dormeo Octaspring mattress. The first new mattress innovation in 20 years, they are designed to give your body perfect support with all the benefits of memory foam without any of the drawbacks. We are both sleeping so soundly now and waking feeling fully refreshed and ready to face the day. I would highly recommend...we are in love with ours and it's definitely worth the extra investment.
2. Duvet & Pillows: Ideally top quality duck or goose down to create plump, cool pillows when you first crash out and a light fluffy duvet for snuggling under. I go a little overboard on the pillow front, with the current total standing at five barely leaving room for P in the bed, but what can I say...I just love pillows! For a range of great quality duck feather check out the collection at Dunelm Mill, with prices starting at a competitive £14.99 per pillow.
3. Sheets: I adore Egyptian Cotton, ideally with a threadcount of 400 or above. For Christmas we were given a gorgeous new set from White Company and I have to say that they really do live up to the hype. Smooth, soft and perfect for snuggling and snoozing under! For the full selection visit the White Company website.
