Product of the Week: Chocolate Brownies from Honeybuns Bakery in Dorset
I have made two new discoveries recently. The first (and not particularly exciting one) is that I’m allergic to gluten. The second one, however, is very exciting and has clearly been sent from the Gods to save me from a chocolate brownie free existence...
Honeybuns cakes are baked at the beautiful Bee Shack café in Dorset where they focus on making their delicious products in ovens that are far slower than those in larger bakeries, allowing the flavours to mingle and develop properly. All the products are made from only natural ingredients and the bit I really love is that all products are wheat-free and most are gluten and dairy free too. My absolute favourite is the Milk Chocolate Brownie – it is so squishy and soft with such an amazing milk chocolatey flavour and even has chocolate buttons (a personal favourite!) on the top as decoration. I am totally addicted and would also highly recommend the congo bars. P is a huge fan of their Cranberry and Pecan Flapjacks (to be honest he's a fan of all of them as he has such a sweet tooth!)
They are all available to buy online as well as in supermarkets and delis around the UK; stockists include Waitrose and Sainsbury’s, but the best place to buy them is at the Bee Shack café itself, where you can treat yourself at the same time to a lovely (gluten-free) traditional cream tea...I’m planning a trip over there next week and can’t wait!
