Home Events: Rustic Teepee Wedding

For me there is nothing more lovely and personal than being able to host an important event, such as a wedding, at home. Sadly most of us aren’t in the position to fit more than a few guests inside the house, but the amazing array of tents available these days make hiring one for your home celebration a really appealing option.

The main trend of this summer according to top UK wedding blog Before the Big Day are tepee marquees. They have a lovely rustic charm and work brilliantly for a bohemian or vintage inspired wedding. This couple were lucky enough to be able to host their reception in a beautiful wildflower meadow next to the bride’s parents home in Suffolk, which made the perfect romantic setting for their big day.

Now for the bit that really excites me....the styling and homemade details inside the tent, which they have done brilliantly. I love the sheepskin rugs on the benches; practical in terms of comfort, but also adding the potential for cosy if the weather doesn't play ball. The long tressle table seating makes for a lovely informal and  family feel to the dinner and mezze is the perfect starter for sharing and getting people talking. It's also something that you could easily prepare yourself if the budget doesn't allow for caterers. Their flowers have been picked and styled by a friend and the string used to tie the napkins as well as dress the tealight jars is a very simple and cost effective idea. I think you'll agree that the overall look is divine.
