“Finding a house was perhaps the hardest part of our journey. Having spent years unsuccessfully trawling Rightmove LBM put a lot of time into discovering what we really wanted and helped us narrow down our location and house criteria. They were extremely patient and we never felt any pressure to pull the trigger until we had found a place we knew was the one.
Once we had put an offer in, LBMs experience really came to the fore. Our offer was accepted even though there were other offers at the asking price, because the house needed a major renovation, and the seller was convinced we had the right team to complete the job with the agent already knowing LBM and having seen a previous sale fall through once they realised the amount of work needed. We later found out that a higher offer than ours had been rejected so not only had we found an amazing home we feel we got it for a very fair price which was all down to the relationship LBM had with local agents and negotiations on the offer.”
THE RENOVATION
“The renovation was complicated by the property being Grade II listed and we would never have been able to complete it on our own nor had the confidence to take it on ourselves. LBMs extensive previous renovation experience meant we were able to deal with the complexities of the listing whilst ensuring we could still renovate it in the way that we wanted to modernise the property. LBM helped us find an incredible local architect and builder who did a fantastic job under Patrick’s military project management skills.
The renovation was time-consuming and here LBM gave us something that is absolutely priceless to us: time. They discovered very quickly the level of detail we cared about and the finish we were happy with.
This meant that we were able to sign off certain things very quickly with minimal effort and at the same time provide our input for areas where they knew we felt strongly. We were confident in LBMs abilities alongside the rest of the building team so felt in safe hands not needing to sign off on every detail but we still received frequent updates to keep us in the loop on the main decisions and progress.
We were presented with potential solutions to choose from rather than the problems and this made the whole process very enjoyable and stress-free for us. We felt heavily involved but it felt like no hassle for us at all.”
THE INTERIORS
“After following Laura’s Instagram and interior articles for a number of years she was a first choice when it came to the interiors of the house knowing we wanted a classic, fresh and calming feel which would remain modern for many years.
Having initially discussed different colour palettes, Pinterest inspirations and favourite interior brands LBM then went away to work their magic before presenting back a tailored mood board for every room, tweaks to doorways, lighting positions etc. with a brief of the feel for the house which blew us away.
Every detail had been thought through to maximise light throughout the house and fluidity between rooms to make it feel like a proper family home again. Although the clean neutral palette was a constant throughout the house, Laura injected colour and unexpected elements such as the stunning wallpaper in the garden room and the powder room which really pull the fun vibe of the home together.
LBMs extensive knowledge and supplier relationships meant many aspects were from companies and small businesses they trusted and have worked with many times before which made this aspect of the design so easy and fun with little worry of things going wrong.
The attention to detail Laura has is her superpower, she has very high standards and an amazing eye for detail which results in the most incredible finished product with all the small details truly making the difference.
The feeling of seeing the finished house for the first time will stay with us forever, every mood board had come to life as envisaged, which literally left us speechless.
It was only by chance we approached LBM to ask whether they had availability to help us find a home after following Laura’s beautiful Instagram page and boy do we feel lucky they said yes.

“Truly are a gem in the world of interiors and renovations”
We were lucky enough to find Laura and Patrick to help us with renovating our ground floor in our Victorian Barnes home which had been stripped of many of its original features leaving a minimal, cold sitting room and industrial-style kitchen following a previous chef-owner.
After following Laura for a number of years on Instagram and following her renovation successes she immediately sprang to mind when we realised we needed help in working out the most efficient use of the space but also for some serious help on the interiors given sadly both my husband and I are terrible on both fronts.
We felt in safe hands given that many of the suppliers, Laura and Patrick have used many times before with any issues encountered quickly ironed out and open communication at all times,
any solutions to problems that needed our attention which were very few.
From appointing a wonderful builder, visualising layouts, working on mood boards together and even picking out the perfect accessories, Laura really does do it all. Patrick ensured everything was project managed with incredible precision and made some fantastic suggestions for extra storage plus a walk-in pantry space which we would have never thought of ourselves.
Laura spent time with us to understand how we would use the space on a daily basis and with this knowledge presented beautiful well-thought-out mood boards which fitted our lifestyle and family perfectly. Laura’s sourcing of furniture, accessories and soft furnishings was impeccable with everything suited to our style which compliment the space and feel of the house with a very classic but welcoming style which will not date.
The result is beyond anything we could have imagined, a light airy front room which is a joy to spend time in and the perfect entrance to our home in addition to our dream kitchen where everything seamlessly fits together with well-thought-out features which will work brilliantly for our family for many years to come.
We have now lived in the space for over a year and can honestly say there is not one aspect we would change, everything was so well thought out and has left our living spaces not only practical but beautiful with the most wonderful sense of calm as soon as you enter the door.
We would not hesitate to recommend the LBM team for any project small or large, they truly are a gem in the world of interiors and renovations.
