Winter Sun at the Shangri-La in Oman

Happy New Year to all my readers - I hope you all had a wonderful break over Christmas and are feeling refreshed and ready to take on 2016! 

We had a very quiet time relaxing in Dorset, which was lovely but the weather was terrible - wind and rain almost every day! Luckily in late November, we escaped for a few days of winter sun to beautiful Oman, where we stayed in the stunning Shangri-La Bar Al Jissah Resort and Spa near Muscat.

It was such a treat - the beaches were beautiful and the weather was perfect almost every day. I think these gorgeous pictures speak for themselves - I can't recommend it enough if you're looking for some relaxation and sun in the winter and don't want to fly too far. We spent five nights at the resort, which was perfect.

As to be expected from the Shangri-La group, the interiors of the hotel were lovely - I will share them with you in next week's post.
