My first building project is now complete and for sale; I feel a mix of emotions ranging from relief, to excitement and of course little bit of sadness that soon it will be time to hand the house over to someone else. Project managing a build has been one of the most challenging things I have ever done, but now looking back (as with a lot of things) I seem to have forgotten the bad moments and have a charmed, rose-tinted memory of the process!
The house has been designed built in a traditional Mallorquin style using top quality reclaimed materials; sandstone from palaces in Palma, original wooden beams, the best Mallorquin marble and terracotta flooring throughout. I have tried to keep it as neutral as possible so that the owner can easily put their own stamp on it and turn it into a home.
The furnishings are mainly from London (browsing the sales for hours online last January!) and a collection of additional vintage bits and pieces from flea markets and ebay - it was a lot of fun and very rewarding and I am already getting excited about my next project, whatever that may be!
