A few weekends ago we were lucky enough to be invited to the most wonderful wedding in Provence. P & I joined forces with two of our closest friends for a road trip from Girona in Spain across to Aix (relying on Ryanair to get us over the water from Palma first). It has been many years since I visited Provence to stay with my Godmother for the summer when I was twelve, but I have so many happy memories of that visit and have been longing to return ever since.
The wedding was held at the beautiful, historic and incredibly romantic Chateau Grimaldi. We booked a lovely B&B, which turned out to be literally at the end of Chateau Grimaldi’s driveway, perfect for pottering to and from the wedding! Les Petits Sources was itself an absolutely magical French Chateau. If I had been asked as a child to draw a picture of my dream house, this would have been (and probably still would be) it. As you can see from the pictures it oozes charm, character and style and the delightful owners added to this. Our room turned out to be an open plan two bedroom apartment (think dorm style sleeping), which at first was a slight shock to us all, but once settled in we were more than happy – how could we not be with such beautiful surroundings!
