Building & Renovation: Research Begins!
Since posting my last entry much of my time (when the internet has been working as we have just had 48 hours in this part of town with no connection) has been spent browsing property websites, which is one of my favourite past-times! I have also been sent a few properties by different people, so thank you very much and keep them coming! The one that stands out the most is this Manor House in the Yorkshire Dales, which has been totally untouched for years. It presents such an exciting opportunity for the right person to sympathetically breathe life back into it and turn it into a family home. Currently there are absolutely no mod cons; no bathroom, no toilet, no mains water and no heating. It is located in the Yorkshire Dales near Sedbergh and the guide price is £200,000 to £250,000, for which you get a four-bedroom manorial farmhouse with a huge attic (old servants' quarters) plus a separate barn! Dandra Garth is grade two listed and is for sale with George F White - there is an open viewing this Saturday, 25th June from 11am until 12.30pm and if I wasn't at one of my closest friends weddings, I would be driving up to take a look (on the off chance I could persuade P that Yorkshire would be the ideal setting for our next project!)
